Pneumatic Forklifts

Pneumatic Forklifts

Extensively used in delivery facilities, the pneumatic forklift or pallet vehicle, can be used to carry materials that are placed on top of pallets. A pneumatic forklift usually has a pair of metal blades installed on a wheeled counterbalance that also has a pump. The pump is used to elevate and lower the blades.

Visually inspect the pallet truck before loading. Make sure the wheels are clear of any likely obstacles. Additionally, ensure the handle moves fluently and turns appropriately. Inspect the pallet prior to moving it to determine if it is stacked in a manner that minimizes the chance of anything falling off during lifting. Release any air in the pump and drop the blades to the ground by squeezing the handle mounted on the inside of the steel ring on the end of the lever. Run the forks into the slots in the pallet and make sure the forks are centered so that the pallets’ weight is evenly dispersed.

By pumping the pneumatic jack handle the forks will ascend from the floor. Once there is full clearance, you can discontinue pumping as there is no need to lift the jack anymore. To move the pallet jack, you can drag the handle behind you. It is not recommended to push the pallet lift. There will be a huge amount of momentum present. Refrain from quick or sharp turns and you should not stop too abruptly. Gently bring the pallet to a rest where you would like to park it. Squeeze the lever inside the handle end to restore the forks to the ground. Withdraw the blades and return the pallet lift to a fitting parking area or continue onto the next undertaking.
